Welcome to the July Edition of Eden's Editorial. I hope that the summer has been amazing to all the friends. fans, and family of MGNCA and MGA.
June and July have come and gone so fast and August is literally right around the corner. June kicked off our preliminary season with Miss Gay Capital City America, where Jenia truly rolled out the red carpet to start the season. The pageant honored Paris Brooks Bonet and the night ended with the crowning of Jada J. Wess and 1st Alternate Aria Russo. Miss Gay Greensboro was put on by Dirty D Productions at Chemistry Nightclub with some great entertainment, and being smothered in jewels by Jai Jai Jewels. At the end of the night Miss Gay Greensboro crowning went to Amazing Grace, and first alternate was Paris Brooks Bonet.
I had 18 days to work on costumes, spend some time with family and friends, and of course have a stoning party. 18 days seems so long, but when you are sewing, stoning, and catchng up on yout favorite shows 18 days equals 18 hours lol.
The last two prelims kicked off July 20th with Miss Gay Hickory America, with 7 amazing contestants, The night celebration went to Shelita Bonet Hoyle winning and 1st Alt. Bianca Blake Starr. Immediately leaving Hickory and a stop to eat with family, I got home, slept for an hour and whisked off to Greenville for Miss Gay Greenville America. The theme was Grease and I definitely got my grease lightning going. At the end of the night the crown was won by Amanda La Rouxx with 1st alternate Jayden James Starr .
I am so excited for you ladies as you start on final preparations to become the next Miss Gay North Carolina America. I myself am prepping to make sure that everyone has an amazing time and is truly entertained. Costumes, stoning, working out, more costumes and stoning. August is going to be a month of new adventures and the closing of one of pageant chapters. My last editorial will come after my giveup as the new MGNCA will be ushered in. Thank you all for riding this journey with me.
For those of you who havent watched the series POSE on FX, I suggest strongly that you watch it. Its an amazing series, that opens the doors to parts of our community that are rarely shown.
I leave you with these thoughts, Never be afraid to make mistakes, never be to proud to ask for help, never think to highly of yourself that you cant help someone else. Life is just like a titleholder reign. There will be some amazing moments and there will be some not so amazing moments, but its all in what you make it. You are the author... write the story you want to see.
Love, Lashes, Lipsticks, and LIFE!!!! Eden Parque Divine Miss Gay North Carolina America 2017.
